Baloo Academy (the “Academy”) is an online English-speaking platform where teenagers teach teenagers. By accessing or participating in the Academy’s programs, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
By registering for and participating in the Academy's programs, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
The Academy is an unincorporated association based in the United Kingdom.
Our mission is to facilitate the learning of English-speaking skills through peer-to-peer interaction.
The Academy provides free lessons conducted by teenage instructors for other teenagers across the world.
Participants must be aged 14 years old and above.
Participants aged 18 and older will only be matched with other participants over 18, whether as students or tutors.
Participants must comply with these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and regulations.
To participate, you must create an account by providing accurate and up-to-date information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information.
If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please notify us immediately at contact@thebalooacademy.com.
The Academy reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms and Conditions.
Recording Policy:
To ensure a safe environment, all lessons are recorded and securely stored for 30 days. By participating in lessons, you consent to being recorded. Recordings are used solely for safeguarding, quality assessment, and legal compliance. They are accessible only to authorized administrators.
Marketing Use:
The Academy reserves the right to use portions of recorded sessions for marketing and promotional purposes. Explicit consent from participants will always be obtained before sharing recordings publicly.
Data Privacy:

Dress Code:
Students and tutors are expected to dress appropriately during lessons and when filming video clips for Baloo Academy.
Respectful Behavior:
All participants must be respectful and considerate. Bullying, harassment, and inappropriate language are strictly prohibited.
Privacy in Contact Information:
Participants should not exchange personal contact information outside of the classroom.
Prohibited Topics:
Discussions during lessons must not include explicit content or topics related to sexual content, drugs, or suicide.
Monitoring:
The Academy reserves the right to monitor classrooms and may terminate lessons if necessary to maintain a safe environment.
Tutors:
Must be punctual, conduct lessons responsibly and safely, and follow Academy guidelines.
Must adhere to the Academy’s Code of Conduct.
Students:
Must be punctual, complete homework, and treat tutors with respect.
Must adhere to the Academy’s Code of Conduct.
The Academy provides its services "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
Exclusion of Liability: The Academy is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in its services, except where such liability cannot be excluded or limited under UK law.
This disclaimer does not limit or exclude liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Any breach of statutory obligations under applicable UK consumer protection or data protection laws.
Participants are responsible for their own safety and well-being when engaging with the Academy's services.
